Our Visit
Even though I grew up in Orange County, I had never heard of The Reptile Zoo. It popped up when we were looking for fun things to do with our kids, so we decided to give it a try. After spending our Sunday afternoon there, while the reptiles were active, we all agreed it was worth it!
Here are some reasons why we liked it:
- We saw different types of reptiles from all over the world.
- We liked learning that most of the reptiles had been donated to the zoo.
- The employees were friendly and informative about the reptiles they were feeding.
- We were able to pet iguanas, a Burmese python, and hold a ball python.
- We fed several large tortoises.
Activities Offered for an Additional Fee
During our visit we saw:
- A designated room for hands-on experiences with reptiles.
- A photo opportunity while holding a Burmese python.
- Feeding vegetables with tongs to enormous tortoises.
Details We Discovered
- We were pleasantly surprised to learn that the zoo is much larger than we expected!
- Most enclosures provide additional information or a QR code to scan on your phone to learn more about the specific reptiles.
- We noticed that it was humid in certain parts of the zoo, so going on a cooler day might be nicer.

Final Thoughts
