Our Visit

Skylight Books is a place we visited in Los Feliz, a hip area in Los Angeles, after eating at a restaurant called House of Pies. It’s known for its author signing events, along with what I like to call, “the magical tree”, found growing in the center of the store. If you are like my family, who loves to visit bookstores, then this place is worth a visit!

Here are some reasons why we liked visiting Skylight Books.

  • We enjoyed the cozy welcoming atmosphere.
  • The “magical tree” in the center of the store gives a charming mystical feel.
  • We saw a variety of books for all ages.
  • Unique kid toys, book bags, eclectic gifts, cards, clothing, and more are sold here.
  • They have an impressive list of monthly events located on their outdoor blackboard.

Activities Offered for an Additional Fee

  • If you are an avid reader and enjoy discussing the books you are reading, then go to Skylight Books to learn more about the variety of programs and book clubs you can join!

Details We Discovered

  • Skylight Books has local book signings and a plethora of events for the community to enjoy.

Additional Information

  • Skylight Books’ Graphic Novels store is located next door.
  • After perusing the graphic novels, my 12 year old and I agreed that it’s geared more for adults.

Final Thoughts

Don’t be fooled by the size of this bookstore. It may not be large but it offers a lot of eclectic books, gifts, and ways to get involved. If you are walking down Vermont Street, I recommend checking it out!
